Winter Wedding at The Beacon House, Whitstable.

Thinking you can only have a beachfront wedding in summer? Think again! The Beacon House in Whitstable has proven to be an all seasons dream location.
Jo and Paul's wedding took place on 1st March and the weather was typically British for this time of year, it was chilly but luckily the rain held off (although even if it hadn’t, I don’t expect it would have dampened the day for this couple, who were brimming with excitement!)
The beautiful steps leading down to the promenade were lined with twine-wrapped glass bottles filled with seashells and the veranda was decorated with dried flowers and pampas displays- a perfect theme for colder months and it worked beautifully with the property.
The house, although grand as it is, also has a very homely feel, and the wedding party certainly felt at home whilst getting ready for the ceremony. Jo and her daughters got ready in the master bedroom while Paul mingled with guests downstairs- I think you can really feel the joy through the images!
Jo and Paul got married on The Veranda under rustic pampas and a dried flower arch, it was a joyful occasion as they excitedly said their vows with their nearest and dearest surrounding them.
After the ceremony and the signing of the certificate in the front room of the house, we headed outside for the portraits, spoilt for choice in locations in and around the property. We got some beautiful images of them on the swing in the garden, on the front steps and on the side steps lined with potted plants. We then went to the beach where the ecstatic newlyweds took off their flip-flops and braved the cold March sea!
We then re-joined the guests inside the house for the happy couple to cut their cake- a beautiful three-tiered pale blue sea and sand-themed cake, decorated with seashells and surrounded by pampas. Champagne was flowing and Jo and Paul laughed and celebrated with their friends and family, both outside in the rustic outhouse and inside, which was lit by the soft twinkling fairy lights. The warm lighting against the original dark wood interior, paired with the early winter setting sun over the Whitstable coastline gave the most dreamy and romantic ambience. A true testament to the versatility of the wedding venue! An all-year-round wedding gem!
Later in the evening, the couple fed their guests with a hearty fish and chip meal, supplied by a local fish and chip van. The guests enjoyed the traditional seaside meal before partying the night away with the newlyweds inside the spacious yet cosy house!
Capturing Jo and Paul’s wedding, the love they share and the authentic joy they expressed in becoming husband and wife was a pleasure to witness and be a part of.
