Summer wedding at The Beacon House, Whitstable.

Whitstable wedding photographer

A balmy midsummer's day at The Beacon House, situated on Whitstable Slopes sets the scene for Laura and Ryan's beautiful beachside wedding.

Beacon House also known as Artists Beach House, was built in 1906 and is truly rather special; special in location, architecture and the charm that oozes out from every nook of the property.

Unique in every sense of the word, you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd been transported straight into a novel, a real storyteller's dream (absolutely wonderful for my style of storytelling photography!)

The house is both grand, yet quaint, spacious yet intimate and around each corner, the enchanting characteristics of The Beacon House ignite a spark of imagination and wonder.

This location could not have been more fitting for Laura and Ryan's wedding.

Colourful pompom garlands adorned the rustic outhouse and the old trees in the garden were decorated with bunting, hanging paper fans and lanterns. Blankets and cushions were strewn on the grass for their guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour and the Veranda was decorated with vibrant flower displays which were provided by Jane at Graham Greener and matched Laura's bouquet and stunning Freda Kahlo-inspired flower crown. Laura's make-up was by the talented Maxi Grace MUA and she looked exquisite in her off-the-shoulder gown and her Saltwater sandals which matched her two daughters.

A perfect bohemian Whitstable wedding with all of the rustic, natural and handmade details that made their day so unique and special.

The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, much like the happy couple. Flower girls waving fairy wands and wearing pastel pink tulle skirts twirled in the wildflower meadow at the back of the property, whilst the older bridesmaids wearing matching duck egg blue tulle skirts watched on.

Laura and Ryan stood on the veranda and said their vows to the delight of their guests, who very clearly shared in their excitement.

Their special day was beyond perfect and the house is situated right on the slopes by the beach giving the unique opportunity to really get that coast-meets-country vibe.

We were spoilt for choice when it came to locations for our post-ceremony portraits, having the beach, the house, the stunning gardens, the wild meadow, the rustic steps lined with potted plants and flowers, the front of the house and the hammock right at our fingertips.

The Beacon House really is a gem and a one-of-a-kind venue; an absolutely magical place to say 'I Do'. As a photographer, I of course delighted in the huge number of photo opportunities and the abundance of wildly beautiful backdrops.

Laura and Ryan's wedding was an absolute pleasure to capture, the loveliest couple with the sweetest daughters- a truly wonderful and memorable day!
